New d-c-fix products at Heimtextil fair

Fresh inspiration for interior design

Deco films for 2010: mother-of-pearl in vogue, fur revival, used-metallic look / Table coverings for 2010: typographic and patchwork designs / Self-adhesive wall panels and matching tattoos / New application for tattoos: Ruthless & Toothless label laptop covers by tattoo artists from Miami Ink.

The additions to the d-c-fix range are breathing new life into the interior design segment. The deco film trends for 2010 embrace three concepts – mother-of-pearl, tiger and metallic. The emerging fashion for table coverings, meanwhile, focuses on typographic, patchwork and floral designs. And self-adhesive panels with matching tattoos show that there's more to walls than wallpaper. All these innovations and more are being showcased by Hornschuch at the Heimtextil fair (Hall 3.1, Walkway A, Stand 71). Besides, tattoos are putting in another appearance in the form of self-adhesive laptop covers designed by American tattoo artists from the popular Miami Ink TV series.

Breaking with convention

By breaking with convention, d-c-fix deco films are creating a new look in interior design. The mother-of-pearl circular leaf effect of the Madagaskar design, for example, creates a vibrant finish that is ideal for renovating cupboard doors and chests of drawers. In turn, Afrika shows the tiger – or at least its hide – in a new light. The appearance is enhanced by restrained embossing, which gives the skin an authentic feel as well. Antikwood is a used-metallic film with grey, anthracite and silver nuances. It readily applies a brushed metal finish to refrigerators and other items. Basic is a 1-2-3 static translucent film that is anything but ordinary. This static cling film provides a delicate linear finish and privacy when applied to windows or shower cubicles. New products are also plentiful in the table covering segment. In 2010, d-c-fix is focusing on discreet ornaments, floral designs in fashionable blue and turquoise, typographic elements, patchwork and a reinterpretation of the classic Paisley design. The bold typography of Fabienne for instance is reminiscent of a newspaper, while Alicia harks back to the Bauhaus movement.

Transforming walls with stickers

Hornschuch is also using the Heimtextil fair as an opportunity to premiere its self-adhesive wall panels and matching stickers. The 65 x 250 cm panels quickly and easily rejuvenate tired-looking walls, and a range of tattoos is now available to maintain the chosen theme elsewhere in the room as well. Six of these combinations are being launched, including a Warhol-styled panel with matching floral tattoos, and the Tokio panel with complementary manga wall tattoos. The products are available individually in selected specialist stores and DIY shops, and online in the d-c-fix shop at www.d-c-fix-shop.de. And for all those who have no desire to keep their lifestyle choices a secret, the d-c-fix range now encompasses self-adhesive laptop covers with Ruthless & Toothless tattoo designs. The cult label was spawned by the successful US TV series Miami Ink. The series was originated by television personality and tattoo artist Chris Garver and his associates. The licence is to be extended to include further d‑c‑fix deco films soon.
